This original oil painting, explores the idea of self care and nourishment. To water your own grass is to hone in on the things that allow you to grow. It puts responsibility on each of us, to find time to do what grounds us and therefor gives us a state of calm.
For me, this has been prioritizing time for creative expression. Recently, I have been finding myself constantly drawn towards mindless scrolling, over consumption and overstimulation. Challenging myself to create this piece over the last four months has been difficult but it has allowed me to calm my mind.
I hope this piece provides you a sense of calm when you look at it. A reminder to nourish yourself - water your own grass.
This piece is non toxic oil paint on a deep edge canvas (black sides). This piece of art is heavily textured.
